Als die sechsköpfige Band um Sänger Bryan Ferry, Gitarrero Phil Manzanera und Elektronik-Wizzard Brian Eno Mitte 1972 mit ihrer Debüt-LP auf den Rock-Plan trat, schlug in der englischen Pop-Musik endgültig der Gong für eine neue Zeitrechnung ? die des Glam Rock (ok, Marc Bolan/T.Rex oder David Bowie waren da schon vorher am Start gewesen). Stylisch-exotisch-futuristisch-androgyn gekleidet, präsentierte ROXY MUSIC anfangs eine Mischung aus verfremdeten Rock?n?Roll, experimentellem Bubblegum-Pop, Avantgarde-Disco und spacigem Art-Rock. Später, ohne Eno und mit Ferry als zentraler Figur, wurde daraus eine glamouröse Mixtur aus Soul, Soft-Rock und jazzigem Pop. Egal aber zu welcher stilistischen Phase während dieser ersten, hier dokumentierten Jahre zwischen 1972 und 1982, die Band erwies sich stets als ausserordentlich einflussreich (wie z.B. auf New Wave oder Post Punk). Die zahlreichen TV-Auftritte (u.a. auch im Bremer "Musikladen"!), die bislang grösstenteils unveröffentlichten Live-Performances (u.a. von der 82er "Avalon"-Tour) oder die diversen Promo-Videos dieser rund 180 Minuten umfassenden, definitiven ROXY MUSIC-DVD-Kollektion belegen dies noch einmal nachhaltig.

Soon after its founding in 1896, the Czech Philharmonic has quickly become the most noteworthy orchestra in the country – even before the First World War the orchestra had built a considerable reputation for itself in concert halls across Europe. Over the course of its 119 year history, the orchestra has fostered numerous significant personalities among its ranks. On December 19, 1968 Václav Neumann conducted his first Czech Philharmonic concert as Chief. Neumann and his artistic cooperation with the Czech Philharmonic successfully continued for 22 years, ending in September 1990. In the Prague concert from 1986, Neumann and the Czech Philharmonic present symphonic works by their compatriots Antonín Dvořák and Leoš Janáček. Both composers are part of the long-standing tradition of the Czech Philharmonic, and lets the audience deeply enjoy the intense harmony between the composer and artists. As special feature the popular marches and polkas by Julius Fučík are performed.
