Damals wurde erkannt, dass es in absehbarer Zeit nötig werden würde, die bis dahin existierenden Telefonienetzwerke und die Datennetzwerke zusammenzuführen. Seitdem wurden viele Anstrengungen unternommen, diesem Ziel näher zu kommen. Heute existiert eine Vielzahl von Lösungen, die hauptsächlich für die schrittweise Migration von klassischer Telefonie hin zu IP-basierter Telefonie geschaffen wurden. In dieser Arbeit wird zunächst erklärt, was "Voice over IP" bedeutet und welche Grundlagen es dafür gibt. Desweiteren erfolgt ein Vergleich von klassischer und IP-basierter Telekommunikation. Danach werden verschiedene Lösungsansätze klassifiziert und aktuelle Produkte vorgestellt. Am Ende werden Migrationsszenarien erläutert und ein Ausblick auf das zukünftige Potenzial von "Voice over IP" gegeben.

So ermöglichen technische Weiterentwicklungen auf dem Gebiet der Sprachcodierung und deren Anwendung auf Hardwarebasis von DSPs revolutionäre Veränderungen in der Sprachübertragung. Weiterentwicklungen in der Netzwerktechnik, wie das Switching, QoS-Mechanismen auf Schicht 2 und 3 sowie das ständige Anwachsen der Übertragungsraten tragen ihren Teil zur Veränderung in der Telekommunikationstechnik bei. Da die IP-Telefonie als eine der Schlüsseltechnologien der Sprachkommunikation gilt, scheint die Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Thema unumgänglich. ¿Ansatz für eine Migration zu Voice over IP unter Berücksichtigung der Cisco AVVID-Lösung.¿ Für die Fachhochschule Schmalkalden ist ein Ansatz für eine Migration zu Voice over IP unter Berücksichtigung der Cisco AVVID-Lösung zu entwickeln. AVVID - Architecture for Voice Video and Integrated Data, eine Initiative der Firma Cisco zur Realisierung von Converged Networks in Unternehmen, soll die Grundlage für das zu entwickelnde Migrationskonzept bilden. Migration wird hier als Übergang von einem System auf ein anderes verstanden. Das zu entwickelnde Migrationskonzept ist als Anleitung zur Implementierung eines VoIP-Systems an der Fachhochschule Schmalkalden anzusehen und zielt auf das Ersetzen der bestehenden Sprachkommunikationsstrukturen. Das bestehende Datennetz wird hierzu in der Planung in ein Converged Network überführt. Die Betrachtungen sind dabei eng auf netzwerktechnische Aspekte begrenzt. Für die Entwicklung des Migrationsmodells wird die Cisco AVVID-Architektur herangezogen und generelle Vorschläge zum Netzwerkdesign berücksichtigt. Von Erläuterungen zu allgemeinen Migrationsmodellen wird abgesehen, da sie für das für die FHS zu entwickelnde Modell keine Aussagekraft besitzen. Hierbei beschränkt sich die Arbeit auf die Betrachtung der Modelle der Cisco AVVID-Architektur, da mit der Vorgabe des Herstellers Cisco nur die Cisco-spezifischen Modelle relevant sind.

Bis zum Jahr 2050 wird die Bevölkerung in Deutschland stetig altern: die Kinderzahlen sinken, die Lebenserwartung steigt. Die Haushalte mit älteren Menschen nehmen neben den kinderlosen Haushalten erheblich zu. 1.1 Problemstellung Die Begriffe, die diesen immer grösser werdenden Bevölkerungsteil beschreiben sollen, sind vielfältig: FortyUp, 50plus, Silver Generation, Midager, Master Consumer und ähnliche Wortkonstrukte werden herangezogen, um Menschen im Alter zwischen 40 und 65 zusammenzufassen, die sich irgendwo zwischen jung und alt befinden und sich selbst zwar nicht mehr als junge Erwachsene doch auch noch längst nicht als Senioren sehen.

Attempts to resolve the conflict have failed in the past and a resolution seems unlikely to emerge in the near future. Partly, this is due to the fact that the situation is extremely complex and the conflict very old. History, politics and international law together with religion, nationalism and pride are entangled to form this conflict. For both sides the conflict has reached an emotional level where belief is more important than rational decisions. A lot has been written about the Israel-Palestine conflict and in recent years more and more critique of Israel has emerged. This is particularly interesting as usually every criticism of its actions or policies is turned down by Israel as anti-Semitism. One thus has to be extremely careful when writing about Israel although international law seems to be relatively clear about the 1967 occupation of Gaza and the West Bank. In order to examine the legality of the occupation, this paper will discuss the situation from both angles and look at the sources of international law relevant to this case. These are the Charter of the United Nations in general and the United Nations Security Council Resolution 242 in particular. In addition, customary international law has developed to a jus cogens, prohibiting the use of force at all for settling international disputes. Finally, this paper shall conclude that any justification of the occupation is doubtful and there is little evidence in international law that might legitimise Israel¿s actions. And even if the initial occupation could be legitimised under Article 51 of the UN Charter as an act of self-defence, the prolonged occupation would still lack any legal basis.

These can be categorised as biological and environmental. The former are linked to the laws of mortality and reproduction which determine the rate of demographic growth; the latter determine the resistance which these laws encounter and further regulate the rate of growth. Biological and environmental factors affect each other reciprocally and so are not independent of one another. For the most part the mechanisms for re-establishing an equilibrium of population growth are the product of choice (fertility, nuptiality and migration) although some are automatic. The sizes of households and families have varied over time, but they seem to have been similar in different societies despite differences in the types of households. It has to be noted that the European marriage and family formation is neither universal nor is it totally unique.

It has achieved "the enhanced status [¿] as the dominant world language [which] has led to an increased demand for the training of competent specialists able to mediate" (Alcaraz Varo/Hughes, 2002: 1). This goes along with a "phenomenal increase in the teaching of [¿] 'English for special (or specific) purposes' " (ibid.: 2). What is the reason for this development? This piece of work might give an answer; it dedicates itself to domain specific English language: language and law. It concentrates on the characteristics of the structure of legal English in particular. An overview of the central structural features is given, without claiming completeness. Legal professionals aim at a precise explanation of facts which should leave no doubts. This aim forces them to use a certain kind of language pattern, such as including a high amount of definitions in legal texts, along with numerous complex and ancient phrases deriving from Law French and plentiful enumerations which can all together form a single sentence covering several lines. Dependent on which party they represent, lawyers make frequent use of features that reduce the agent in his identity while emphasizing the action ¿ a matter of strategy which has the impeding of comprehension as a consequence. Therefore, the field of law becomes completely unapproachable for laymen, who are scarcely able to follow legal discourse. Even well-educated native speakers often find it hard to understand the language used in court. However, the access to one¿s rights is important. To begin with, the reader will be provided with an overall definition of special languages and an explanation why to regard them as a variety of a language; afterwards this will be illustrated at the example of the language of the law. Subsequently, the foundations for the structural analysis of legal English will have been laid. Language has to serve as the vehicle for transporting what the law is about. But legal language does not seem to be a good packaging of legal contents. That is why experts are asked to diminish the barrier and mediate between the language of the law and common speech. Does legalese function as an obstacle rather than a vehicle then? This question will have to be considered in this piece of work. The climatic change, depletion of resources, growing energy crisis, threat of terrorism, rapid of growth of population and the changing structure of population are new challenges the young generation would face. The world in year 2050 would not be a different place to live. Unless and otherwise education policy is framed to address the 'gloom and doom' side of world by 2050, the next generation would face a serious threat of existence. The positive futurists show that technology and science will not allow the world to laps its primitive past once again. It is clear that science and technology is the only answer to human survival. Therefore, it is important that education policy makers taking a fresh look at the policy challenges for the future. This paper makes an analysis based on the published and documented evidence what policy framework would be required in the developing countries in view of the emerging challenges to ensure a survival of the generations to come.

(Henry Gilmer) Diese Arbeit fokussiert sich auf einen relativ jungen Teilbereich der Führungsstilforschung: Die Transformationale Führung. Das neue theoretische Konstrukt, von Burns in den späten 70`er Jahren entwickelt, sollte einige soziale Phänomene erfassen, die der bis zu diesem Zeitpunkt vorherrschende Ansatz transaktionale Führung nicht oder nur ungenügend erklären konnte. Transaktionale Führung bezeichnet einen Führungsstil bei dem über eine Befriedigung der individuellen Mitarbeiterbedürfnisse auch die Organisationsziele erreicht werden. Hingegen erreicht transformationale Führung im Idealfall eine Leistung des Organisationsmitglieds über die individuelle Bedürfnisbefriedigung hinaus. Der Mitarbeiter wird weniger extrinsisch durch z.B. materielle Anreize motiviert, sondern soll das Organisationsziel über seine individuellen Ziele stellen. Diese intrinsische Motivation soll erreicht werden durch einen "charismatischen", "visionären", inspirierenden" oder auch als transformational bezeichneten Führungsstil. In einem ersten Schritt wird aufbauend auf einer Darstellung der Konzeption transaktionaler Führung das Konzept transformationaler Führung erläutert werden. Anschliessend beschreibe ich welche aktuellen Forschungsfragen sich in Bezug auf transformationale Führung stellen und welche Erkenntnisziele hierbei verfolgt werden. Meine Hypothese lautet, dass die Effektivität des transformationalen Führungsstils von zahlreichen Kontextfaktoren abhängt und sich daher nur sehr bedingt als universelles Managementinstrument funktional einsetzen lässt.
