Also the housing market has improved dramatically for various reasons such as significant policy changes. Only the general, systematic housing shortage, the under-supply of mortgages and the under-capitalization of developers still hindered further growth. This was yet addressed by the Fox government introducing new approaches and special agencies to keep social stability and enhance further economic growth. Therefore the thesis points on the rather recent developments of the Mexican housing market including the question how it became the way it is. Furthermore, the political and economic motivations and influence of both, public and private local and foreign actors to the market, without which neither it would not have grown that much, nor will grow as projected, are highlighted. Moreover, potential obstacles to further market growth and increased stability such as an ongoing lack of capital are named, and promoted along with ideas beyond like environmentally friendlier approaches that are in the long-term favor of the Mexican society.

The consequence of that globalization effects will be a challenge to the philosophy of traditional accounting and taxation and promote an acceleration of global harmoniza-tion of the principles of accounting and taxation. The new business development and creation of innovative business planes in ebusi-nesses have to consider those certain properties and facilities of eManagement of resources in accounting and taxation. The guideline will give some practical approaches and issues for planning ebusi-nesses considering the essential rules, directives, regulations and principles of ac-counting and taxation (¿state of the art¿). Purpose of the project is to search in relevant German, U.S. and other references for relevant material about accounting and taxation of ebusinesses, summarize and structure the essentials to a practical guide for developing and planning ebusinesses. Based on the relevant accounting principles for ebusinesses in German commercial law (HGB), International Accounting Standards (IAS) and US-General Accepted Ac-counting Principles (US-GAAP), sales and use tax, and income tax in Germany and US, the highlights of the content are web-based businesses, nexus based on server location, mobility of web-based businesses, web site expense deductions, acquisi-tions and dispositions of web-based businesses, valuation subjects and the relevant international recommended methods of transferpricing for multinational enterprises and tax administrations (OECD guidelines) corresponding to their certain cases of application. Result of the project is a well-structured practical guide for developing and planning ebusinesses from accounting and taxation perspectives with implications for creation of business models and a lot of hints to further references.

People on the coasts don't seem to know that such a vibrant theater and arts scene exists in the Midwest.¿ This is how an anonymous survey participant described the unique quality of theatre in the Midwest, which illustrates the essence of this thesis paper. While the following work is focusing primarily on professional theatre in the Midwest, it also catches a glimpse on community theatre, especially in Montana, as their major form of theatre. In general, American theatre is often equated and centered with theatre that is produced and staged on Broadway in New York City. Yet, the American theatre scene is much more diverse and widespread than commonly believed. The common misconception about American theatre outside of New York is supported by the lack of literature about Midwest theatre. Information on Midwest theatre for instance is mostly covered in American theatre biographies, however, current studies on the variety and structure of contemporary Midwest theatre are rather rare to non-existent. Therefore, empirical and statistical research for this paper in form of field and Internet studies were essential. The structure of the paper in some way reflects the diversity of Midwest theatre and landscape, starting by defining the Midwest as a region, followed by a brief history of American theatre in general and its basic current structure. A description of all established theatre branches in the Midwest, case studies of exemplary theatre companies in Chicago, Minneapolis, Iowa, South Dakota and Montana, are preceded by individual perception on Midwest theatre by performing artists as well as audience members. ¿ I was surprised by the professionalism and wide variety of theatre opportunities for people in the Midwest region (Chicago areas especially) after being raised in New York, where "everyone who is anyone" should flock to for theatre experience. The Midwest and others regions offer a wide span of experience and opportunity for many aspiring talented theatre professionals and amateurs alike.¿ This exploration proves there is indeed a wide variety of theatre in the Midwest, ranging from highly professional companies, to highly motivated, quality amateur theatre, and that there is much more potential in creative energy and ambition than commonly believed.

For centuries, if not millennia, the changes in human society had occurred slowly and usually did not affect the lives of the majority of the people significantly. That is not to say that the event of a war, a draught or another catastrophe did not have devastating consequences and indeed it were predominantly the ordinary people who suffered the most if such an event took place. The conducting of life however remained unaffected and continued as it had before. Scientific inventions were rarely made and if they did happen it was only a small privileged section of society benefiting from them. Whatever influenced the life of most people occurred gradually, making it both possible and easy to adjust. It could even be argued that because these influences did not have an impact during a person¿s lifespan but developed over generations people failed to recognize them as changes at all. This has profoundly changed in the age of globalization that has already shaped the economic, social, and cultural lives of hundreds of millions of people. The majority of them may not be able to clearly identify these changes but they would all agree that something is happening in their lives. The feeling evolving out of this is one of uncertainty; there are both greater opportunities and greater risks. The previous era had already witnessed the transformation that industrialization brought about and it provoked sharp reactions. Industrialization not only transformed people¿s lives it changed the character of warfare as well and the 20th century had to endure the consequences. Technology brought many improvements but people start to realize that there is a flipside to everything. In a somewhat dialectical sense we cannot take the benefits of something while at the same time hope to avoid the ramifications. The world today has not just become smaller; it also turns out to be far more complex and diverse than any philosopher could have possibly imagined. Postmodernism can be conceived as a movement directed at both diversity and complexity but it may not provide a satisfying answer. Instead, its simple but yet powerful message may be that all we can do is accept the actual condition. This paper attempts to outline the development of postmodernism as a reaction to Modernity, and to analyze some of the implications this reaction brings about.

In general, spikes in oil prices are not unusual and are, to some extent, symptomatic of a gradual upward trend in daily oil price volatility. Volatile prices arise from supply and demand that are both highly inelastic in the short run, with the result that even small shocks can have large effects on price. But especially within the last few years, the oil price has continuously increased sharply ¿ and to some extent unexpected. This recent sharp increase in the oil price prompts several questions: Why have oil prices risen? What is the impact on the global economy and on individual countries? How do oil importing countries cope with the higher prices? What are appropriate policy responses to stabilise the economy in face of high oil prices? And last but not least, what role does the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries really play? To begin with, there is no doubt that the recent increase in oil price is mainly demand driven, combined with historically low excess capacity and heightened concerns about supply disruptions. And even without macroeconomic knowledge, everyone is aware that higher oil prices affect the economy as a whole and all its market participants. However, this is only the basis for the plots. At the end of the novel we do get to know the villain, but by then we also know who was believed by the various characters to be that person. In the two novels I chose, The Sign of Four by Arthur Canon Doyle, first published in 1890 and Morality for Beautiful Girls by Alexander McCall Smith, first published in 2001, these villains are greedy, seek revenge or are savage. People fear them because they feel they do not have any social control over them. I will also deal with anthropological criminology which is discussed in both novels, more or less obviously. Throughout the essay I will show how the detectives and their helpers are used to contrast the wrongdoers. Closely connected to the evil is the wish to restore justice. In both novels it is not the police or the judiciary that deal with this task. The detectives are needed to detect the wrongdoers and therefore they can decide how they will punish them - for example, it is their decision whether they want to take the matter to the police or not. Another statement that the novels make is the fact that evil people are punished directly by their own evil deeds, because they influence their later life.

Anderson et al (2006, p. 1) states that customer value proposition is one of the most widely used terms in business in recent years. So it is important that a company is able to help customers understand the superior value of the products or service offered. Under pressure to keep costs down, customers may only look at the price and so it is important to think about the customer value proposition but also the comparison to the competitors of a specific market environment. This should flow into this assignment as well. Another problem of product development is that in many companies it is rather influenced by opinions of different sales people then by facts and figures. According Annacchino (2007, p. 101) a lot of companies tend to make a mistake at the product definition step, so that the customer is not really involved in the product development process. In reference to the definition of customer-defined needs there are different ways: ¿ A company can use direct customer surveys to solicit feedback and to obtain information in a direct manner. ¿ Another way is a focused group discussion which allows multiple-person input and prompted discussion to generate ideas. ¿ A third possibility is a suggestion system and communication platform for customers and stakeholders.

Nowadays, word has spread. The topic has become more pressing on political agendas, national and international summits. In the 2007 Adecco Fitness Survey, European companies invision the demographic change as the second biggest business challenge, following Globalization. The UN has been pressing the issue of ageing populations since the 1940s and forecasts that the number of people over 60 years old will have tripled by 2050. For the first time in history, this figure will exceed that of the number of children (0 ¿ 14 years). However, these aggregated figures do not show that these developments have taken place differently across the globe. Europe is experiencing the most rapid ageing, and the number of old people is already higher than the number of young people. This may explain why demographic change now has such a high priority in EU policies. Nico van Nimwegen, deputy director of the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute notes that the ageing problem is the dominant challenge the EU is facing. He sees the implications of this trend and the need for action and policy change in various areas. Employment has been recognized as one of these target areas. The ageing of the population has important repercussions on the available labor force and thus impacts economic prospects as a whole. This paper will analyze demographic changes and their impacts on the labor markets. It will begin with an overview of Europe¿s demographic development and its driving forces. The subsequent impacts on the labor force will then be discussed followed by an overview of different proposed policy options and how they could help circumvent the consequences of demographic change. Here the goal shall not be to detail single policy measures, but to unveil areas in which policy action needs to be considered. Particular policies have to be chosen carefully by each country in accordance to its individual situation and institutional framework. Finally, the findings of this paper will be reviewed and a final conclusion will be given.

They are chased by their murderers on their ways home from the so called ¿maquiladoras¿, which are factories where they work for a little sum of money and produce TVs or computers for the USA at the assembly lines. The young women are violated and raped by their kidnappers and later their dead bodies are buried somewhere in the desert of Mexico. Nevertheless, the police and the whole government of Juárez try to camouflage these events. The number of victims, published by the police, is about 375 women, whereas the estimated number of unreported cases is about 5000. Gregory Nava made these true events to the story of his movie Bordertown from 2006. The tortures the women of Juárez have to experience and the underlying topic of border-crossing are the essential subjects of Bordertwon. Furthermore, within his movie, he has chosen a special way of communicating these topics to the viewer: he makes use of media, respectively investigative media, in order to show how hard it is to explore this subject. So, not only he himself uses media as an organ of communication but he moreover embeds the investigation of certain matters into his movie. Nowadays media is the most important institution of distributing and communicating information and of transmitting one¿s own perspective about certain topics. This is not only done by directors like in the case of Gregory Nava but by everyone who stands in the centre of a certain field ¿ for instance politicians or celebrities. As Wilma de Jong, Martin Shaw and Neil Stammers have formulated in their introduction of Global Activism, Global Media (2005): ¿Media appear to be increasingly globalised, as national television, press, etc. are subsumed in gigantic worldwide flows of information and ideas, symbolized by the internet which offers social and political actors new opportunities for more direct communication.¿ So, media ¿ in our time better said ¿mass mediä ¿ stands for a direct but widely spread transmission of information to the audience. People, who decide to transmit certain messages through media ¿ in this case for instance Gregory Nava and his protagonists from Bordertown ¿ have a special aim by acting this way: they want to make a change within the field they are working for. Examination Thesis from the year 2008 in the subject Didactics for the subject English - Literature, Works, grade: 1,0, University of Heidelberg (Anglistisches Seminar), language: English, abstract: The American literature is a reflection of the socio-political developments in the different stages of the history of the country, and especially slavery is a crucial topic in it. Many works dealing with slavery have been published in the 19th, 20th and 21st century, and some of them have sparked debates that are not only on literary issues. Two of these are Herman Melville¿s (1819-1891) Benito Cereno (1855) and Mark Twain¿s (1835-1910, born Samuel Langhorne Clemens) Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (1884). These two novels are often seen as major works in American literary history, and their authors are among the country¿s most celebrated. Both books have in common that their stories play in the time before the abolition of slavery. Benito Cereno deals with a slave revolt on a ship, while Huckleberry Finn depicts the adventures of its eponymous hero and a runaway slave, Jim. Another feature the novels share is the fact that both have been charged to contain racist and pro-slavery attitudes. This paper will evaluate and analyze these assertions in order to show that they are false because they are based on misunderstandings. It aims to provide a profound delineation of the racial attitudes in the two novels. The assumption here is that neither Melville nor Twain wrote racist novels. This shall be proven with the help of a close analysis of the narrative perspectives and literary devices used in the books. Both of the stories, as will be shown later, are told by narrators that are far from being easy to grasp without a deeper examination of their character and function. A comprehensive insight into these appears to be beneficial for a better understanding of both of the novels. The present paper will begin with an exploration of the individual attitudes of the two authors. Although the knowledge of writers¿ opinions can never be used as the sole key to a literary work¿s interpretation, it can still be helpful to gain an insight into his ideas about the world he or she depicts in his or her fiction. After this, the two novels will be dealt with separately. In a first step, the assertions about each one¿s racism will be delineated. Then, the narrative perspectives and other literary techniques will be thoroughly analyzed. In a last step, the novels¿ racism will be evaluated with the help of the insights gained about the techniques used. It shall be shown that in the light of this, neither Benito Cereno nor Huckleberry Finn are racist books.

After describing the current provisions concerning contingency fees in Australia and Germany, both the Australian and the German approaches will be critically examined concerning the preconditions of conditional cost agreements. The author concludes with the following findings: Sufficient information for the client is one of the most important elements when entering into a conditional cost agreement. The legislators in both countries have set up a good basis by implementing the requirements of written form and client information. The comparative look shows that the exclusion of criminal law and family law matters is unnecessary from a legal perspective and should lead to an amendment of the actual prohibition clauses in the Australian acts. Finally, it must be strongly recommended that Germany should follow the Australian example and implement a "cooling-off period" to address the client's need for both sufficient information and effective action.

Both, Emerson and Reagan, can be regarded as excellent speakers and writers, well versed in their rhetoric means. I want to show that there is a common ground where the ideas and the rhetoric of these seemingly contradictory characters meet, which supports the idea of an overaching truth within the minds of the American people.
