Digitally restored, all six episodes are now available for the very first time. Two bonus features are also included: the sole surviving sixth episode of the original 1938 production, starring the original Paul Temple, Hugh Morton, and an unbroadcast interview with the longest-running Paul Temple actor, Peter Coke.

Für viele Menschen ist Dichtens ein mit grosser Leidenschaft gepflegtes Hobby, fast alle versuchen es dann und wann. Wer holprig dichtet, wird erfahren, wie er aus seinen gereimten Werken die Stolpersteinen aussortieren kann kann. Wer also dies wirklich spannende Buch zur Hand nimmt, wird angeregt werden, bewusster zu reimen und besser zu reimen. Seine Muse und Günter Spitzing haben miteinander vereinbart auf die etwas gequälte und durchaus amusische Fachsprache, die die Literaturwissenschaftler sozusagen „so drauf haben“ und die sich auch auf den meisten Internetseiten übers Reimen breit macht, ganz bewusst zu verzichten. Selbst zu dichten soll schliesslich keine anstrengende Schwerstarbeit sein, sondern Freude machen. Das Dichten geht auf uralte Zeiten zurück. Diese ehrwürdigen Traditionen können wir beim Dichten aufgreifen. Denn wir sind in dieser, tief in die Geschichte hinab reichenden und sich über weite Länder erstreckende Kulturlandschaft verwurzelt. Wir sind geistig verbunden, nicht nur mit Goethe und dem Nibelungenlied, nein auch mit Salomos Hohem Lied und nicht zuletzt mit Homer. Klingt alles vielleicht ein bisschen zu anspruchsvoll. Aber wenn Sie sich dies Bändchen zu Gemüte führen, sind auch Sie in der Lage nicht nur ein paar Verse zu schmieden, sondern Poesie zu kreieren, die dann auch wirklich anerkannt wird.
