Dies sind das Deutsche Bank Championship, das in Boston (USA) ausgetragen wird, die Deutsche Bank Ladies¿ Swiss Open, die in Losone (Schweiz) stattfinden sowie das Deutsche Bank Players¿ Championship of Europe, welches in Hamburg auf Gut Kaden abgehalten wird. Auf das zuletzt genannte Turnier, das dieses Jahr vom 23. bis 29. Im Fokus der Kommunikationspolitik lag lange Zeit der Produktwettbewerb. Die Unternehmen setzten dabei vor allem darauf, den Rezipienten durch Produktinnovationen zu überzeugen und sich vom Wettbewerb abzuheben. Doch vor allem im Bereich der Konsumgüter scheinen die Grenzen des Produktwettbewerbs erreicht zu sein und begründen so den Wandel vom Produkt- zum Kommunikationswettbewerb. Seit 2000 spricht man von der sogenannten ¿Phase der Dialogkommunikation¿. Durch die neuen Medien rückt eine zweiseitige Kommunikation immer mehr in den Vordergrund und erweiterte die Kommunikationsmöglichkeiten erheblich. Dadurch ergibt sich eine höhere Anspruchshaltung des Rezipienten, er erwartet nicht nur den Grundnutzen eines Produktes, sondern viel mehr den Erlebnisnutzen. Anders als bei der klassischen Werbung, bei der der Rezipient die Werbebotschaft und das Produkt nur passiv aufnimmt, soll der Rezipient im Event-Marketing live erleben. Die Teilnehmer einer Veranstaltung werden aktiv eingebunden und erleben das Produkt und das Unternehmen ¿zum Anfassen¿. Schon anhand der häufigen Verwendung der Begriffe Event oder Event-Marketing lässt sich erkennen, dass unter diesem Thema weit mehr zu verstehen ist, als nur eine Geburtstagsfeier im Restaurant und dieses längst nicht mehr nur ein Mittel der grossen Konzerne ist. Aber was genau ist ein Event und was ist Event-Marketing? Welche Rolle spielt es im Kommunikationsprozess? Events werden häufig und in jeder Branche veranstaltet, dabei kommt es jedoch vor allem auf die richtige Planung, integriert in den Kommunikations- und Marketing-Mix, an. Ist Event-Marketing daher als eigenständiges Instrument der Kommunikationspolitik zu betrachten oder ist es lediglich ein Subinstrument? Nach einer Abgrenzung der Begriffe Event und Event-Marketing sowie einer Klassifikation der verschiedenen Einsatzmöglichkeiten, soll diese Arbeit des Weiteren das Event-Marketing als Instrument der Kommunikationspolitik untersuchen und mit den klassischen Instrumenten vergleichen. Zudem soll hier die konkrete Planung des Event-Marketings anhand verschiedener Veranstaltungen aus der Praxis, mit dem Schwerpunkt auf Produktpräsentationen, exemplarisiert erläutert werden. Darauf folgt eine Analyse der Wirkung und des Erfolgs des Event-Marketings.

Schon im alten Rom gab es ¿Brot und Spiele¿ fürs Volk und im Wilden Westen machten fahrende Händler mit spektakulären Veranstaltungen auf ihr Warenangebot aufmerksam. "Veranstaltungen, die ein Produkt oder eine Leistung, eine Strategie oder eine Person einer bestimmten Zielgruppe emotional vermitteln" sind also keineswegs eine moderne Erfindung. Doch durch die Veränderungen der Bedingungen auf den Märkten und den gesellschaftlichen Rahmenbedingungen in den vergangenen Jahren, erlebten erlebnis- und freizeitorientierte Angebote eine Renaissance und wurden wieder verstärkt von Konsumenten nachgefragt. Es wurden Tendenzen wie lebenstilorientiertes Kaufverhalten sowie steigende Freizeitorientierung beobachtet, ebenso wie die Nachrage nach erlebnisorientierten Angeboten in der Freizeit. Dadurch veränderten sich die Kommunikationsbedingungen. Während die Informationsmenge, welcher der Konsument ausgesetzt war, immer weiter zunahm, sank gleichzeitig die Wirtschaftlichkeit der Unternehmen, was einen Information Overload und Low Involvement zur Folge hatte. Unternehmen erkannten diesen gesellschaftlichen Trend und versuchten diesen mit entsprechenden Unterhaltungsangeboten aufzufangen und Erfolg bringend in ihren Kommunikations-Mix zu integrieren.

The Marquis learns through his agents that Admiral Esteban and his goons have followed the trail of Merinda and Fernando and wish to kill everyone. The plot is averted. The King accepts a payoff from the repentant accomplices. It turns out the murderer is not dead from the poison, seeking a meeting with the...
