Im weitesten Sinne geht es um Fundraising im Nonprofit-Sektor, also das Einwerben von Sach- und Geldmitteln für nicht-gewinnwirtschaftlich arbeitende Organisationen. Im engeren Sinne geht es um Prozesse der Spendererreichung und ?bindung, also um die Einwerbung von Finanzmitteln von Privatpersonen. Dieses Thema wird in Kooperation mit der Dresdener Hilfsorganisation arche noVa Initiative für Menschen in Not e.V. bearbeitet. Am Anfang der Arbeit steht eine Einleitung, um Begriffe in diesem Feld voneinander abzugrenzen und das eigentliche Thema herauszuarbeiten. So werden Sozio- und Spendenmarketing, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Fundraising und Kommunikationsstrategie erläutert und eine Einführung in den Dritten Sektor und dessen Finanzierung gegeben. Anschliessend werden Erkenntnisse zum Spenderverhalten und zu Spendenmotiven aus der Literatur aufgearbeitet. Schliesslich wird die Rolle von Kommunikation in Nonprofit-Organisationen samt ihren Ausprägungen (Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, gesamte interne und externe Kommunikation, Corporate Identity) beleuchtet. Interne und externe Kommunikation der Organisation werden herausgestellt. Eine empirische Untersuchung soll theoretisch erarbeitete Erkenntnisse überprüfen und Spender auf ihre Verhaltensweisen hin untersuchen. Grundlage für die empirische Prüfung ist die Fördererkartei des Vereins, die mir zur Verfügung stand. Gespräche und E-Mails mit dem Geschäftsführer verhalfen, einen tieferen Einblick in die Arbeit dieser Organisation zu erhalten. Mit dem Ziel kommunikationsstrategische Ansätze für eine erfolgreiche Spenderwerbung der Organisation zu formulieren, wurde ein Viertel der Förderer des Vereins als Stichprobe ausgewählt. Die empirische Überprüfung gestaltet sich in Form einer postalischen Befragung.
